Locations
To say "in (a country)":
- The preposition used is en for most countries and regions (which are grammatically feminine): eg en Angleterre, en Bourgogne, en Floride, en France, en Nouvelle-Calédonie, en Nouvelle-Zélande, en Papouaisie, en Tasmanie
- For masculine countries, au is used: eg au Brésil, au Canada, au Japon, au Luxembourg, au Mexique, au Royaume-Uni, au Texas, au Zimbabwe
- For countries that have a plural form, aux is used: eg aux Etats-Unis (in the United States), aux Pays-Bas (in the Netherlands)
